Welcome,

the aim of this website is to introduce you to the Shogi (将棋), the Japanese generals chess game..

This game is quite the same as the western chess version : you have to check mate the opponent's king. (ote tsume  王手詰め)

Pieces do not have exactly the same moves.

Some additionnal rules come to increase the game pleasure :

- The drop   (you can reuse pieces you've captured)

- The promotion (Pieces that go into the third file in opponent's defense can get more moves)
